I want to offer my thanks to Mayor Cathy Murillo for participating in our Tree of Peace Ceremony at UCSB, in respect of the Great Law of Peace, and for her proclamation of March 11th as Community Tree of Peace Day, mentioning the Santa Barbara Global Peace Pole for Jerusalem and the formation of a Community Peace Council to foster personal peace - for peace in the community - and peace in the world.
I read her proclamation Sunday at our third Community Tree of Peace Council this year, along with the Hopi Declaration of Peace.
Saturday we had our first small Community Peace Council open public forum in Isla Vista, with participation and encouraging messages of support from community leaders including Dr. David Bearman and Marc McGinnes.
Soon I will be leaving Santa Barbara driving my RV across country to Atlanta, to help conduct the “Great Spirit All My Relations Relay Marathon, Walk and Caravan” to the White House, July 11 – August 30, to offer the Global Peace Pole Ceremony with the President.
This Great Spirit All My Relations Relay project is my retirement hobby for 2018, but was initiated in Santa Barbara in 1985 by my late teacher Masao Nippashi whose daughter will lead the walk on July 11th from the Carter Center in Atlanta to the King Center.
Along the way, I will be sharing our mayor’s proclamation with other city mayors to inspire their global peace proclamations to also present at the White House August 30th after discussing them at our Aug20-28 Spiritual Unity Summit, a 2018 Forum for Global Peace camped near Washington DC at Greenbelt National Park.
